I am always mentioning new places, new people, magazines, places to go and try and I thought to put a page on my site to use as a reference tool. As many of my clients already know, I often say, “you need to go here, you need to try this treatment, etc.”. I will use this page as a reference tool to share with everyone the places that I refer to, magazines that I read, information that I pull from. Now, some may know of these foot pads that you put on the bottom of your feet and they pull toxins from the body, and turn black and icky looking. Well, let me be the first to tell you that the Ion Foot Cleansing/Bath system is a top notch treatment. It is designed to help pull the toxins out of the body and Pat and her crew work with you to design the session to meet your needs. I HIGHLY recommend the Ion foot cleansing treatment to help flush out all of the toxins that we accummulate in our bodies, whether it is diet or lifestyle related. I do have some clients that have trouble releasing toxins and they have benefited from Pat’s treatments. I, myself, have tried it and was amazed at the results. Primp Salon Bar

Located in Raleigh, NC, on West Street, this is the LATEST and greatest in hair and nail salons. I heard about this place over a radio advertisement and could not wait to pull up their site. Not only is this place of the top notch etiquette, but there are options to have a martini, glass of wine, or a beer, while you are getting pampered. Being a therapist and already having a hairdresser, I opt for the pedicures. But MAN, this is what I call class and “fluff and puff”. Prices are a bit higher than your average nail salon, but with the professionalism and atmosphere, I totally think it is worth it. For those that do not drink alcohol, they can certainly accomodate a glass of water or a non-alcoholic beverage.

I also like it because when I have had my pedicures in the past, I never felt like they were focusing on me and could not understand the language. I just cannot justify spending my hard earned money and feeling like I have to respond to hand signals or speak to someone that cannot understand English. Not racist, but just a fact. So, check these guys out and view the site. Very elegantly done and very nice. Gotta fill out a short form for a membership, free of course. I believe this is necessary for alcohol to be served.

Bloom Skin Spa

I am just so excited to have Amber join us in our suite at AtheraSoul/Spa Oasis. Just recently, Nicolette Locklear joined Amber’s practice. Not only are they wonderful people, but they have the knowledge and skills to do the ultimate in skin care. As licensed Aestheticians, their attention to detail is wonderful, taking the time needed for skin analysis for EACH client. Best of all, the product is 100% ORGANIC. When I say organic, I mean you can physically EAT the products that they use on your skin, which I have been told that we should not put anything on our skin/face that we cannot eat. Amber also does eyelash extensions.

My facial with Amber was absolutely fabulous! I came on a Sunday, my day off, and as most of my clients know, I prefer facials over massage ANY DAY. I was greeted with a candlelit, beautiful room. I filled out my forms and was entertained with cold, filtered water, with a fresh orange slice in it. I also had a dish of my favorite crackers, as a light snack. Amber took the time to talk to me about my past skin care history and walk me through my facial treatment. I asked for an ear candling session, which I highly recommend to everyone, especially if you are prone to ear infections and with the winter months coming about. When the facial began, I was educated, which I asked to be…..cleansed with a organic lemon cleanser and exfoliated with a fresh wild plum. My skin was analized under two different lights, one showing sun damage, and the other that identified imperfections in my skin. Of course, Amber took care of these issues for me. Amber then used a serum and tonic, massaged into my skin, as well as a carrot vitamin mask and tomato/lycopene moisturizer. Wrapping it all up (of course, I was a spagetti noodle at this point), I was given a eye and lip treatment. I have never felt so pampered, relaxed and fullfilled as I did on this day.

They are a wonderful addition to the practice and look forward to many facials with them. Their space is designed to be so inviting, warm and cozy. We are truely beginning to become the best kept secret in Cary!! I have complete menus and price listings. Be sure to ask me for those and take advantage of this great addition!! I have no doubt that you will be pleasantly surprised and satisfied.

Ok, got a little hidden secret in the heart of Apex, NC. A friend of mine has rant and raved about this place. Not only do they do weekly (I think on Thursday’s) wine tastings, but they also have the “wine-a-rita”....yes, a slushy, margarita type wine-cocktail

The owner has a calendar of events, and at the wine tastings, the actual vendors are there pouring, so education and questions can be achieved. HIGHLY recommend this folks, and most of you know how picky I am. And for those that do NOT enjoy wine, there is Tyler’s Tap room right behind it.

I just cannot say enough about Aaron Hyde, Owner of Brewed Fresh Media. As you are looking at my site, you are LOOKING at Aaron. He not only is meticulous in his work, but has done an outstanding job creating my website and helping me with updates and edits. He has created his own module of website development, so this is his BABY and he has every right to be so proud of it. His attention to detail, listening ear, and putting up with my many emails, saying I can’t do this, I am having trouble here, etc makes him a diamond in the “ruff”. A few weeks ago, I came to you for my regular massage…..just a little massage but then you found some tight muscles and what felt like knots in my left hip. I didn’t really know there was a problem…I just thought my hip was hurting a little because I was getting older and that I should expect to have aches and pains from now on.

You worked and worked on my hip and cleaned up that mess. The tissue and muscles in that hip were knotted-up and tight. In other words, my hip was in terrrible shape but you fixed it. You altered my massage that day to diligently and very gently work on that spot that was deep in my hip. I do believe if you hadn’t found that spot and worked on it so thoroughly, I would have had to go to the doctor. It seems like I was one day away from a doctor visit but you ‘nailed it’ and the pain was gone in about 15 minutes. You warned me that my hip would probably be bruised and maybe be more painful the next day, but that was not a case at all. Actually, when I listened to you and iced my hip (15 mins. on and 15 mins. off)....for at least 2 hours that night, the pain was gone. I hardly even bruised. And one week later, I was still in great shape. I never had to take a pain pill or anything else. WOW – You are amazing! How many times had I noticed my discomfort and thought I was just getting older…but you stopped the pain in my hip….and it HAS NOT COME BACK.

Thank you for your professional skill and really listening to me when I said my hip was hurting a little bit. You took care of me and I walk much smoother now. I know if my hip ever starts hurting again, I’ll be knocking on your door to fix it immediately. Until that time comes, I’ll continue seeing you at least twice a month for routine muscle and deep tissue massages.
