This month, I am focusing my site on giving thanks and recognizing people that are special to me and my practice.
Personally, I want to give thanks to my family, my dear friends, clients, and especially my church family, Calvary Baptist. I am so fortunate to have these beautiful people in my life and consider myself truely blessed.
I am also featuring and profiling two co-workers of mine, Amber Self, Owner of Bloom Skin Spa and Julia Travis, Owner of the Art of Relaxation. Both of these wonderful ladies work in the practice with me and have wonderful talent. They happen to be big sweethearts as well.
Amber specializes in Organic Skin Care, as a Licensed Aesthetician and Julia’s foundation is Lymphatic Massage. They are truely at the top of their game, so please try to get in with each of them to experience their services.
I have put up two pages devoted to each one of them. Take time to “get to know” these two ladies!! I have had services from both of them and they are truely diamonds in the ruff!!
NEW to the site this month is a new page, “Christie’s Corner”.
This is an extra page that features things that are fun and different, but not necessarily geared towards massage therapy. However, this is going to be the future home of a blog that I will be starting the first of the year. I will also write some excerpts of my own, personal thoughts to share with my clients, related to my practice.
This month, Christie’s Corner will feature RECIPES!!
I have sent out a request for all of my clients to send me their FAMOUS recipes, (or ones that you favor or hold near and dear). Since we are approaching the holiday season, I thought it would be neat to share our recipes. There will be some ideas in different areas of cuisine, so check it out!!
Everyone have a great November and we will see you soon!!
At AThera Soul, I strive to offer affordable, quality massage therapy to my clients. As a licensed massage therapist, I strongly believe in preventative care through the art of massage therapy. I create a quiet, private environment so that clients feel comfortable and walk away with quality treatments at great prices.
Massage provides relief to people from all walks of life—the weekend or competitive athlete, the home gardener, and the overstressed executive struggling to keep pace in today’s economy. Secretaries, laborers, waitresses—anyone can feel a need for massage at some point in time. The senior population, as well, benefits from massage, as it enhances flexibility and circulation. However, there are some conditions where massage is not recommended. Your practitioner should ask for information regarding any specific health conditions from which you may be suffering in order to determine if massage or bodywork are contraindicated. With many chronic ailments, massage can relieve pain and assist in the healing process. As with physical problems, emotional problems may also be stimulated into self-healing with massage. In many cases, this eliminates the need to take harmful chemical drugs, which will unnecessarily burden the liver, kidneys, and other vital organs.
At AThera Soul, your therapist will do a consultation prior to your session. Each massage is catered to meet the needs of the specific client on that specific day. We take the time needed to discuss your goals for your session, which may differ from session to session.
Care of your body should be at the top of your priority list. You will feel and look better if you take the necessary steps regarding health and nutrition in this age of increased longevity. Stress relief alone can improve your vitality and state of mind. Massage and bodywork could play an important role in your life.

“When I graduated and became licensed as a Massage Therapist, I worked in various environments, including a day spa and a chiropractic office. I observed that people really needed some good, therapeutic work, but did not get it, due to the high prices and/or quality of therapists. I made a decision that not only would I deliver quality, therapeutic work for those that need it, but I would make it affordable for ALL incomes. Everyone should have an opportunity, whether you are preventing surgery, injured, atheletic or just to de-stress, to receive quality, professional massage therapy. I stick by that philosophy and love helping people. My work is not a job, it is a way of life and I truly love what I do.”

A few weeks ago, I came to you for my regular massage…..just a little
massage but then you found some tight muscles and what felt like knots in my
left hip. I didn’t really know there was a problem…I just thought my hip
was hurting a little because I was getting older and that I should expect to
have aches and pains from now on. You worked and worked on my hip and cleaned up that mess. The tissue and
muscles in that hip were knotted-up and tight. In other words, my hip was
in terrrible shape but you fixed it. You altered my massage that day to
diligently and very gently work on that spot that was deep in my hip. I do
believe if you hadn’t found that spot and worked on it so thoroughly, I
would have had to go to the doctor. It seems like I was one day away from
a doctor visit but you ‘nailed it’ and the pain was gone in about 15
minutes. You warned me that my hip would probably be bruised and maybe be
more painful the next day, but that was not a case at all. Actually, when
I listened to you and iced my hip (15 mins. on and 15 mins. off)....for at
least 2 hours that night, the pain was gone. I hardly even bruised.
And one week later, I was still in great shape. I never had to take a pain
pill or anything else. WOW – You are amazing! How many times had I
noticed my discomfort and thought I was just getting older…but you stopped
the pain in my hip….and it HAS NOT COME BACK. Thank you for your professional skill and really listening to me when I said
my hip was hurting a little bit. You took care of me and I walk much
smoother now. I know if my hip ever starts hurting again, I’ll be knocking
on your door to fix it immediately. Until that time comes, I’ll continue
seeing you at least twice a month for routine muscle and deep tissue
massages. Thanks for being such a caring professional.
